Sony Pictures has announced a week before the movie is released in theaters that the new Ghostbusters will be released at some point on Ultra HD Blu-ray + 3D Blu-ray, which is great news for fans of both formats.
No word yet on a released date of course or on a soundtrack format, but considering it’s Sony, we can easily guess this should be Atmos.
I’m so excited!!! Just saw this movie in 3D today and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it! With all the disappointing movies so far (ID4: Resurgence), Ghostbusters is now my current favorite film of 2016! The really cool 3-D effects extending beyond the black letterboxed sections of the screen were ingenious and completely unique! I have always loved the gimmicky 3-D films from the 80s (Jaws 3-D is my favorite of all time) and seeing Ghostbusters in 3D brought back that feeling . Thank you Sony for finally bringing a 4K UHD/3D Blu-ray Combo Pack to retail. I wish more studios would follow in your footsteps
