Warner just announced that In The Heart of the Sea will be released on Blu-ray in 2D and 3D editions on March 8th with a Dolby Atmos Soundtrack.

Climb the Everest in Dolby Atmos
Universal Studios confirmed via a press that the upcoming Blu-ray of Everest in both 3D and 2D editions will feature a Dolby Atmos Soundtrack.
The movie will be available on January 19th.

Minions coming to Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos
Another release we knew was coming based on previous information from Europe, it’s now official : Minions will be offered with Dolby Atmos. The movie will be released December 8th on Blu-ray in both 3D and 2D editions featuring an Atmos sountrack.

Sony will release Pixels on Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment just announced that the action movie Pixels will be released on October 27th with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack in both 3D and 2D.
The release schedule for this fall is getting very interesting with a good quantity of new Dolby Atmos titles. We will have three titles released on October 27th, which is unseen since the initial launch. I updated, as usual, the list of Atmos titles on this site.

How Reviews Are Done On NextGenHomeTheater.com : Here are some ground rules for review on this site. The first thing is that the movie itself will never be reviewed, as this is not the intention and tastes and opinion regarding movies are up to the viewer. Furthermore, the review will concentrate on the next generation element of the content, so in this case the Dolby Atmos track, while presenting the other aspects. A Blu-Ray 4K would for example be reviewed for visual performance only. There will not by any grades either, just comments and a purchase recommandation in the conclusion.
The Movie
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is another reboot in the recent wave of 80’s and 90’s popular culture rebirth. Is this new version, the four turtles, helped by April and Splinter, will try to stop Shredder and his Foot Clan from getting control of New York City.
