Warner announces their first UltraHD Blu-rays

Warner Brothers just confirmed they will support UltraHD Blu-ray from launch with over 35 titles over the course of 2016.

The four launch titles announced are :

  • Mad Max : Fury Road
  • San Andreas
  • The Lego Movie
  • Pan

Two other titles were confirmed over the course of the year :

  • Pacific Rim
  • Man of Steel

Please note that Warner confirmed that select titles will have Dolby Atmos soundtracks, no mention of DTS:X yet.

No official dates yet for any of the release, but it’s pretty sure that everything should be announced in a press conference during CES this week.

  1. finally some titles worth buying. but when UHD gets released we (almost) all need new equipment, older 4k tv’s can not decode the UHD signal properly. just saying.

    1. Well it’s true that some of the first generation 4K TV did not support HDCP 2.2. But, some of them (Samsung for instance) were offered hardware support to be able to. But sadly, you’re right some of the early adopters will be paying again.

I agree with you that some of the titles here finally make some sense, looking forward to The Lego Movie for instance.

      1. Yes that lego movie is the sh*t! (srry for language).

not exactly they need to pay again, where streaming is available it wont matter for some unless broadcast company are gonna change that too. that wouldn’t be fair to them dont you think? nevertheless, the future is not written, judgement day will happen and i hope everyone is gonna survive with their 4k tv’s 🙂
